Paolo Benettin, a Ph.D. student from the University of Padova in Italy, arrived last week and will join our lab group for the next 9 months. He will be working on watershed modeling of transport processes and using stable isotope tracer data from our research site at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire. Paolo’s research interests include: the theory of transport by travel time distributions, hydrological modeling at the catchment scale, geomorphological dispersion, and stochastic processes involving soil moisture dynamics. His M.S. research was recently published in Water Resources Research.
