Hubbard Brook south-facing watersheds.
Hubbard Brook south-facing watersheds (from hubbardbrook.org).

We are still recruiting a second graduate student to join us on our NSF funded hydropedology project.  This study focuses on the overlap between hydrology, soil development, and biogeochemistry.  We are using LIDAR data to map landforms and develop spatial predictions of soil types and dominant flowpaths in headwater catchments at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire.  We’re looking for students with interests in geospatial modeling of soils, terrain analysis, and hydrology. The student will work with faculty at Virginia Tech, as well as with federal and other university scientists involved in the project. We have several ongoing projects at Hubbard Brook. It’s an exciting place to work!
